Come and enjoy nature in the Veluwezoom National Park. All year round, the area near the Posbank is great for walking, cycling (mountain bike) or horse riding. A rolling landscape with beautiful views, woods and heathland. From our Bed & Breakfast it is a 5-minute walk to the forest. In the woods, you can enjoy the impressive tall beech trees, the different types of trees, the height differences and perhaps spot wildlife. Such as red deer, wild boar, roe deer and foxes. And of course enjoy all the budding fresh green in spring. After a walk or a brisk climb by bike, it is lovely to have a drink/eat at Paviljoen Posbank, at the Veluwezoom transferium/information centre or the Carolinehoeve. The transferium/information centre is about 6 car minutes from our Bed and Breakfast.

In the village of De Steeg lies Middachten estate with its castle.

The beautifully landscaped castle garden can be visited from 01 June to 01 October 2024 from Wednesday to Sunday from 12.30 am to 4.30 pm. The garden is one of the Netherlands’ best preserved castle gardens. Middachten Castle is sometimes opened for viewing. In December, a Christmas fair is organised in and around the castle.

Walking routes Veluwezoom through nodes

Last winter “knooppunten” (nodes) for walking have been placed at the Veluwezoom. The principle is the same as the nodes for the bicycle. You can now plan your own walk in advance by connecting the nodes.

Our B&B is close to the walking route between node 22 and halfway node 75.
